AMERICAN  HISTORY II

Welcome to U.S. History II.  Throughout this course, you will learn how the United States recovered from the Civil War and became a rich, powerful, and diverse Nation of many peoples and cultures. You will be required to complete reading and writing assignments outside of class so that you may thoroughly understand the classwork material.  This course is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your own ideas about the “how” and “why’s” of events that have shaped the United States today.  To this end, you will be given the opportunity to participate in class activities which will help you refine your ideas about U.S. History through the free exchange of ideas.  Obviously, class participation is an important component of this class; in order for you to actively participate you must prepare for each day’s activities in advance.
